The Acer Aspire 5 A515-54-51DJ is a slim, well-equipped, and relatively affordable notebook PC. For around $500, the Acer Aspire 5 A515-54-51DJ delivers a 15.6-inch display with Full HD resolution for a sharp picture and IPS tech for wide viewing angles, the 8th Generation Intel Core i5-8265U processor, 8GB of system memory (RAM), and a 256GB solid state drive.
These components enable very smooth operation of the laptop when it comes to regular computing tasks of the average user. Getting a laptop with a processor faster than the i5-8265U makes sense only if you regularly do heavier computing duties like video / audio production. 8GB RAM is a very decent size which allows comfortable multi-tasking. The included 256GB SSD helps a lot with overall performance of the notebook, as opposed to the mechanical hard disk drives. The 256GB capacity isn’t extraordinary, but still provides a decent amount of data storage space. The good news is that storage and RAM are upgradeable on the Acer Aspire 5 A515-54-51DJ. As for gaming, the Intel UHD 620 graphics, which is integrated into the main Core i5 processor, is good only for lighter game titles.
Other features of the A515-54-51DJ worth mentioning are backlight on the keyboard, a finger-print reader integrated into the notebook’s touchpad, aluminum display lid, slim design, and great portability. The laptop measures only 0.7″ in profile and weighs in at 4 pounds. That’s a light weight for a 15.6-inch notebook.
Acer has included a 3320 mAh battery in this notebook model. It enables a battery life of “up to 9.5 hours”, according to the computer maker.
Usual starting price: around 510 USD* as of October 30, 2019.
