The Asus Q302LA-BBI5T19 is yet another 13.3-inch convertible notebook model with a fully rotatable display hinge which enables multiple usage modes – laptop, tablet, multimedia stand, and multimedia tent.
In terms of specifications, the Q302LA-BBI5T19 is a mid-range model. It comes with the Intel Core i5-5200U dual-core processor, 6GB of system memory, and a 1-Terabyte hard drive. The CPU can easily handle your day-to-day chores like web surfing, work on text and spreadsheet documents, and multimedia playback. Furthermore, it is a decent solution for more demanding stuff like photography and video editing work, although it isn’t specially designed for these tasks. Its integrated Intel HD 5500 graphics is good only for basic gaming. For most users, 6GB of RAM ensures flawless multitasking, while the 1TB HDD offers a plenty of storage space. However, it is a slow storage device, since it’s just a regular notebook HDD spinning at 5,400rpm.
Besides touch input support, the screen has nothing else special to offer. The resolution is mediocre at 1,366-by-768 pixels and IPS technology for wide viewing angles is missing.
Thankfully, the Asus Q302LA-BBI5T19 has some nice perks to attract shoppers. First, it has a premium elegant chassis with brushed aluminum finish. Second, it has backlight underneath nice-looking silver keyboard keys. Also, it provides Intel’s WiDi display output for a connection to external monitors and TVs.
Another good selling point is pre-installed Windows 10 operating system, so you don’t have to mess with upgrades after you purchase the laptop.
The rest of the specs doesn’t bring surprises nor disappointments. There’s a standard laptop feature set including stereo speakers, a 1-megapixel web camera, three USB ports, HDMI video output port, support for the latest 802.11AC wireless networking standard, Bluetooth interface, a combo microphone/headphones audio jack, and a multi-in-one media card reader.
With a weight of 3.7 pounds and chassis thickness of 0.9”, the Q is a quite portable notebook, but still not as slim and light as some pricier convertibles like HP Spectre x360 or Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro.
Asus hasn’t provided info on battery life of the Q302LA-BBI5T19, but some other models with similar specs are rated at up to seven hours.
