Asus Transformer Book T300 Chi 12.5″ 2-in-1 PC

The Asus Transformer Book T300 Chi is a higher-end 2-in-1 PC which can be used as a clamshell laptop or a standalone tablet thanks to its detachable keyboard design. The T300 Chi has a 12.5-inch touch IPS display and packs Intel’s Core M series processors with mid-range performance and a great power efficiency. Other highlights are sharp FHD 1920-by-1080 or WQHD 2560-by-1440-pixel display resolutions, support for a separately sold active stylus pen, 4 or 8 Gigabytes of system memory, a 64 or 128 GB solid state drive, thin-and-light aluminum body, and totally quiet fanless design.

The larger display, better computing performance provided by the Core M 5Y10 and 5Y71 processors, and beefier RAM and storage capacities are the main advantage of the T300 Chi over its smaller 10.1-inch T100 Chi sibling with an Intel Atom CPU. On the other hand, the T100 Chi is cheaper, more portable, has a rear camera besides the frontal shooter, an additional micro USB 3.0 port alongside two micro USB 2.0 ports, and includes a free 1-year subscription for Microsoft Office 365 Personal suite. Both devices have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections, micro HDMI video output, micro SD memory card reader, and a combo audio jack.

The T300 Chi is a heavy tablet and a lightweight laptop at the same time. The tablet part weighs in at 1.6 pounds, while the keyboard dock adds another 1.6 pounds to the overall weight. Both portions of the device are quite slim. They are around 0.3″ thick each.

The battery life lasts up to 8 hours, according to Asus.
