The 15-f004dx is a very affordable 15.6-inch laptop PC. It has a ~250-dollar price tag. Similar notebooks with similar prices are predominately based on the Intel Celeron processors, whereas the 15-f004dx relies on the AMD E1-2100 chip.
Both Intel and AMD variants are good only for basic computing, be it web surfing, Microsoft Office document editing, or video and music playback. For advanced stuff like video editing or professional photography adjustments, recommended are the Intel Core i5 and i7 processors or AMD’s A10 CPUs. The Radeon HD 8210 integrated graphics is weak for anything more than lowest detail and resolution gaming. 4GB of RAM memory and a 500GGB hard disk is a standard setup in the budget notebook category. These capacities are sufficient for multitasking and data storage needs of the average user. The 15-f004dx does have a built-in DVD burner which is missing on some of its competitors.
As for the display, the 15.6-incher is a low-end and standard one. It has a screen resolution of 1366-by-768 pixels, glossy coating, and not-so-wide viewing angles due to absence of IPS display technology. Touchscreen support is missing.
This 4.8-pound matte black laptop with a 0.9″ thick profile has a isle-style keyboard with numeric pad, a trackpad with physical click buttons, stereo speakers, and a 1MP web camera.
Networking and connectivity feature set is a usual one, too. There are Wi-Fi wireless, Ethernet LAN, three USB ports, HDMI video output, and a multi-in-one media card reader.
The battery has a 2800 mAh capacity. Hewlett-Packard has rated battery life at 4.5 hours.
