It has windows 11 but no cd drive you would have to buy a external cd/dvd drive or even bluray they are pretty cheap on like ebay, amazon.

Any external USB CD / DVD drive should work normally.

Will the HP fc00093dx work well with CAD software
Notify me of replies Unwatch this thread
Dan –
I don’t know what CAD program you use, but for example minimum specs for the latest AutoCAD 2024 include “Display Card: 2 GB GPU (8 GB recommended) with 29 GB/s bandwidth (106 GB/s recommended) and DirectX 11 compliant (DirectX 12 recommended)”. The HP fc00093dx doesn’t have a dedicated video card with its own video memory, so I assume you can’t use it for AutoCAD 2024. Or maybe it is possible to run it with some limitations and possibly run older versions of the program. Anyway, for CAD-type software I would get a gaming laptop, since they all have dedicated video cards. Even the lower-end laptops with the GeForce 3050 gaming GPU meets the AutoCAD 24 requirements and possibly other equivalent programs.

Question –
IPS or TN?
Notify me of replies Unwatch this thread
Dan –
The official specs state this:
Display: 15.6-inch diagonal, FHD (1920 x 1080), micro-edge, anti-glare
So, no word on IPS. It’s probably TN then.
