HP 15t 5HH94AV_1 ‘Best Value’ Laptop
The HP 15t 5HH94AV_1 ‘Best Value’ laptop is a popular model, because it has a prominent place in HP’s 2019 Black Friday lineup. For $449 (during Black Friday sales on HP Store), the basic HP 15t 5HH94AV_1 configuration delivers a budget-class HD display without IPS wide viewing angles, the 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8565U quad-core processor with the Intel UHD 620 integrated graphics, excellent for the daily computing tasks and good for light gaming, decently-sized 8GB of system memory for seamless multi-tasking, and low-capacity but fast 128GB solid state drive-based storage.
These components are configurable at the time of purchase, except the processor. You can have optional touchscreen input support and sharper Full HD display resolution. Also, you can get larger 12GB or 16GB RAM size. And, you can have larger storage space in form of SSD storage of up to 512GB, slower but capacious 1TB hard drive with optional Intel Optane memory for better performance, or a combo including a 256GB SSD and a 1TB HDD.
The battery of the HP 15t 5HH94AV_1 ‘Best Value’ has a mediocre capacity of 41 WHr.
Although the laptop provides good value for the money, it’s worth noting that there are similarly priced HP notebooks with newer 10th Gen Intel Core processors and larger default RAM and data storage options. SVA in HP’s terminology means “standard viewing angles” as opposed to wide viewing angles. Depending on an angle of view, picture on SVA screens (based on TN technology) may appear washed out or colors can look inverted. That’s why I always recommend laptops with wide viewing angle screens based on IPS technology.
