Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga 14″ Thin & Light Premium Business 2-in-1 Laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga is advertised as the World’s lightest 14″ business-class 2-in-1 convertible laptop. The 2.8-pound body of the X1 Yoga with 0.7″ thin profile and 360-degree rotatable display hinge packs many high-end notebook features.

First of all, the black durable military-specs-tested chassis with recognizable no-frills ThinkPad design carries a 14″ multi-touch display with active digitizer pen support, IPS wide viewing angles, and special coating for reduced glare. There are two display resolution options available – Full HD 1920×1080 and WQHD with 2560×1440 pixels. Furthermore, the WQHD variant of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga is expected to be available with OLED display technology, characterized by great contrast, vivid colors, and wide viewing angles. A ditigizer pen is included with the laptop and there’s a dedicated slot in the keyboard deck for it. The keyboard itself features ergonomically shaped isle-style keys with backlight. When you use the 2-in-1 device in tablet, stand, and tent modes, the keys retract automatically to avoid their unwanted exposure.

The X1 Yoga sports the well known ThinkPad TrackPoint stick in the middle of the keyboard, accompanied by physical “click” buttons for use with it, and a standard touchpad. The touchpad has buttons integrated in the surface.

The notebook is based on Intel’s 6th Generation Intel Core U-series “Skylake” processors. CPU options include the Intel Core i5-6200U and i7-6500U, as well as their slightly faster siblings wth Intel vPro advanced system management technology – the i5-6300U and i7-6600U. 8 Gigabytes of system memory is standard across the series. The only exception are configurations with the i7-6600U, which can optionally ship with 16GB RAM. As for storage, the ThinkPad X1 Yoga offers solid state drives with up to 512-Gigabyte capacity. The 256 and 512 GB SSDs are optionally available with NVMe technology for ultimately fast storage performance. The included components can compute your daily business and home tasks effortlessly. If you, however, do photography and video editing professionally on daily basis, a better solution would be a laptop with a quad-core Intel i7 processor and preferably a dedicated video card, but these notebooks are much bulkier than the X1 Yoga. The included Intel HD 520 integrated grpahics isn’t mant to be used for gaming, but you can still play some popular titles on it.

Other important specs include three USB 3.0 ports, a mini DisplayPort video output, microSD memory card reader, a fingerprint reader, Bluetooth, combo mic / headphones audio port, and a OneLink connector for compatible OneLink docking stations.
