The Dell Inspiron 15 5000 5577 (i5577)<\/strong> is a 15.6-inch gaming laptop. As opposed to insanely powerful and pricey high-end gaming notebooks with metal casings, Dell’s 5577 offers mid-range gaming capabilities in a plastic-clad chassis at relatively low prices. It starts at around $750. <\/p>\n

Gaming-wise, the centerpiece of the 5577 \/ i5577 series is the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050<\/a> video card with 4 Gigabytes of GDDR5 video memory. The GTX 1050 is a mid-range graphics card by today’s standards. But, it is much better than the previous generation mid-tier GeForce GPUs. The 1050 can run all the popular blockbuster game titles, but in some of them you’ll have to lower graphics detail settings and resolution for smoother gameplays. For better performance, you can choose some other laptop with the upper mid-range Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060, higher-end 1070, or top-end 1080.<\/p>\n

The video card also manages the notebook’s 15.6″ display with reasonably sharp Full HD 1920×1080-pixel resolution. IPS technology for wide viewing angles and touchscreen support are missing. On the positive side, the display has anti-reflective coating.<\/p>\n

For main computing tasks, responsible are the 7th Generation Intel Core processors. In particular, the higher-end Intel Core i5-7300HQ and high-end i7-7700HQ. Both are excellent quad-core CPU choices for gaming, as well as for other tasks like daily computing duties or professional work like music and video production. Options in system memory and data storage departments are very decent. You can get either 8GB or 16GB of system memory. 8GB is enough for the wast majority of games and multi-tasking. If you want worry-free and future-proof RAM size, 16GB is the way to go. For storing data, Dell has provided the standard 1-Terabyte hard disk as the basic option. You can get the same 1TB HDD paired with 128GB of solid state drive storage for a great balance between high-capacity and speed. Or you can have SSD-only storage for fast read \/ write speeds. SSD options are a 256GB drive and a 512GB drive. The latter has even better performance thanks to NVMe SSD technology. A built-in DVD drive is missing on this model.<\/p>\n

A built-in subwoofer besides the standard stereo speakers is a good news regarding bass sounds. Another nice perk of this black colored notebook with red accents is optional keyboard backlight. Furthermore, the Dell Inspiron 15 5000 5577 (i5577) features 802.11AC Wi-Fi, wired Gigabit LAN, and Bluetooth connections, HDMI video out port, three USB 3.0 ports, a headphones \/ mic audio connector, and a media card reader.<\/p>\n

We applaud Dell for putting a very capacious 74 WHr 6-cell battery inside this notebook. That’s on the other hand expected, because its powerful components require greater power than those in the mainstream notebooks. Unfortunately, Dell hasn’t officially provided info on battery life. But with given specs, you can expect around 4 hours of power autonomy with light computing tasks involved. Gaming of course will drain the battery much faster.<\/p>\n

Weight is 5.5 pounds and the profile is 1.1″ thick. <\/p>\n

As for operating system, the Dell 5577 \/ i5577 ships with Windows 10 Home pre-installed.<\/p>\n
