The 13-inch Microsoft Surface Pro X<\/strong> is a part of the Surface tablet series, alongside the 12.3-inch Surface Pro<\/a> and 10-inch Surface Go<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The Surface Pro X features a high display resolution of 2880 x 1920 pixels for a very sharp picture quality. As same as the other Microsoft Surface tablets, the Pro X has a document editing-optimized 3:2 screen aspect ratio, IPS-class wide viewing angles, support for both finger touch and active digitizer pen input on the display (pen sold separately), and optional keyboard cover. <\/p>\n

Besides the screen size, the main difference between the Surface Pro X and its Surface siblings is its ARM processing technology you can typically find in mobile phones and devices such as iPad. But still, the Surface Pro X runs Windows 10 operating system. The caveat here is that some programs under Windows on ARM processors run only in emulation mode, with possibly lower performance of the programs. Also, some peripherals that work on other Windows 10 computers might not work on the Surface Pro X, if there are no ARM-compatible software drivers for the peripherals.<\/p>\n

The incorporated ARM-based Microsoft SQ1 processor is rather designed for power efficiency than top-notch performance. This enables a long battery life of “up to 13 hours”, according to Microsoft. For comparison, the Surface Pro 7 with its smaller 12.3″ screen and an Intel processor is rated at 10.5 hours. <\/p>\n

Generally, the SQ1 and its integrated graphics are suitable for regular home and office usage, involving Microsoft Office apps, web browsing, light casual gaming, and similar. When you add the Pro X’s built-in LTE mobile broadband internet connectivity to the mix, it can be said that the device is aimed at mobile office professionals who require a great portability, long battery life and “always-on” internet connection. For heavier tasks like media production, recommended are the regular Intel or AMD processors you can find in the Surface Pro and many other Windows laptops and tablets.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
