The Acer Aspire E 15 ES1-511-C590<\/strong> is Acer’s take on the lowest-end full-size laptop segment. This model competes directly against the 250-dollar laptops such as the Toshiba Satellite C55-B5201<\/a>, Asus X551MAV-RCLN06<\/a>, or Lenovo G50-30<\/a>.<\/p>\n

All of these laptops have the same processor and lack advanced features such as touchscreen, keyboard backlight, or Full HD display. The CPU is the Intel Celeron N2830 dual-core. In short, it’s good for entry-level computing involving web surf, writing texts, basic photo editing, video and music play, and playing some less demanding PC games. As for RAM and hard drive capacities, 4GB and 500GB are enough for multitasking and normal use of Windows and common apps. But, the hard drive speed is 5,400rpm, which is usual but slow in comparison to the pricier solid state drives. Performance-wise, it’s a bottleneck of the system, but keep in mind that the same kind of HDD is found in almost every budget mainstream notebook on the market. As a downside in comparison to some other similarly priced alternatives, the Acer Aspire E 15 ES1-511-C590 has no built-in DVD drive.<\/p>\n

The screen resolution is standard: 1366×768 pixels. It doesn’t provide a picture quality of the 1920×1080 Full HD displays, but laptops with these usually cost multiple times more than the ES1-511-C590. <\/p>\n

When it comes to other specs, the notebook has all the necessary features: stereo speakers, a web camera, three USB ports, HDMI video output connector, Wi-Fi and Ethernet LAN network, Bluetooth, and a media card reader.<\/p>\n

Design-wise, the Aspire ES1 series is characterized by sleek 0.9″ thin casing made of anti-slip matte black plastics with dotted pattern. What’s different than usual on this model is absence of a dedicated number pad on the keyboard. In return, you get a more centered main part of the keyboard on the deck. Also, the majority of ports are clustered on the rear, instead of right and left sides. <\/p>\n

The 3-cell battery sealed inside the chassis is able to provide up to 4.5 hours of run time, according to the manufacturer. By the way, hard drive and RAM memory are also sealed inside, so upgrades won’t be as easy as on laptops with dedicated doors on the bottom.<\/p>\n
