The Lenovo IdeaPad U330 is a recently announced 13.3-inch consumer notebook, that features Intel Centrino 2 technology with switchable graphics.
The ultraporable, which weighs “just over 4 pounds”, comes with the Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 processor at 2GHz, 2GB or 3GB of DDR3 system memory, up to 320GB of hard drive storage, and a built in DVD burner. Users are enabled to switch between the GMA 4500MHD integrated and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450 256MB dedicated video chip dynamically, without rebooting the system. The 4500MHD is a battery saver, while the 3450 provides better graphics performance.
Lenovo’s U330 has a 1280×800-pixel display with LED backlight and frameless design.
Other features include 802.11a/b/g/n wireless and Ethernet LAN connections, a built-in 1.3MP web camera, a pair of stereo speakers, Dolby Home Theater sound technology, HDMI and VGA outputs, two USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, 6-in-1 media card reader, and Firewire port.
The PC maker says that with a standard 6-cell battery the piano black IdeaPad U330 provides up to 3.5 hours of battery life, if the discrete graphics chip is used, and up to 5.5 hours on the dedicated GPU.
The laptop ships with Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit OS preinstalled and currently starts at $1,199 at the Lenovo online store.
