The Sony VAIO S 13.3-inch laptop, previously available as a pre-built system exclusively at Best Buy, is now offered as a configure-to-order notebook at Sony’s official website.
The VAIO S (VPCS1390X) features the 1st generation of Intel Core processors, up to the Core i5-580M, Intel GMA HD integrated graphics or the Nvidia GeForce 310M 512MB dedicated video card, up to 4GB of RAM, up to a 500GB hard drive or 256GB solid state drive, a DVD burner or Blu-ray combo or Blu-ray burner, 1366×768 LED-backlight display, “up to 5.5 hours” of battery life with the standard battery, and Windows 7 OS.
The 4.4-pound laptop also sports optional Intel Wireless Display technology, a web camera with microphone, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Gigabit LAN, a keyboard with optional backlight, HDMI and VGA outputs, fingerprint reader, Firewire, three USB 2.0 ports, Memory Stick PRO and SD card slots, and an ExpressCard slot.
The laptop comes in black or sliver color, but Sony additionally offers S models with white or black Wavy Signature Collection design.
