The Acer Iconia W500, a Windows-based version of Acer’s first tablet device and the first AMD Fusion-powered tablet, is now available States side.
The available model is the Iconia W500-BZ467 which sports a ten-inch 1280 x 800 multitouch display with support for five-finger input, the AMD Fusion C-50 dual-core 1GHz processor with the Radeon HD 6250 graphics, a full HD video decoder, 2GB of DDR3 memory, a 32GB solid state drive, and Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit OS.
The 2.1-pound 0.6-inch thin tablet provides Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, frontal and rear-facing 1.3MP web cameras, micro HDMI port, a pair of USB ports, and a microSD card reader.
Its battery life is rated at six hours with the standard six-cell unit, if you use it for web browsing. HD video playback can last four hours on a single charge.
The Acer Iconia W500-BZ467 is available at various retalers in the US.
According to the product pages on retailers’ websites the tablet ships with or without a keyboard dock.
With the proprietary keyboard, the tablet is priced at around $650, while without it the pricing is approximately $100 lower.
