Best Buy hasn’t forgotten those who would like to purchase a cheap netbook on Black Friday. The company has listed the Gateway LT2811u 10.1-incher for only $150 in the offical BF ad.
The Gateway LT2811u packs an old single-core Intel Atom N455 1.66GHz processor, which doesn’t provide performance level found in the dual-core Atom N550 or newer N570. Other internals are common for a modern netbook: 1GB DDR3 RAM and a 250GB HDD with Windows 7 Starter pre-loaded.
But besides the CPU, another downside of the Gateway LT2811u is its 3-cell battery instead of a 6-cell unit. Gateway says the maximum battery run time of the netbook is four hours. If it had a 6-cell battery, the run time could be much longer.
Other features of the LT2811u are a embedded webcam, mic, Wi-Fi and LAN connections, three USB ports, a multi-in-one media card reader, and VGA.
The netbook has a gray chassis with a nice textured gray/black lid. It weighs 2.3 pounds and measures 0.9 inch thin.
Specifiations of the Gateway LT2811u are not the best in the market, but its $150 price tag makes it a great bang for buck. However, if you want it, you will have to be an early bird on November 25th since there will be only (minimum) 3 units per store available.
Meanwhile, you can watch the netbook unboxing:
I got this net book on Black Friday just for a little bit of homework and it worked fine for me. It worked so well that he might buy another one. I didn’t go to the store to buy it. I ordered it online
The article said it has a 3cell battery, but in your video, you say 6 cell battery. Which is correct?
Hi, according to the specifications of the Gateway LT2811u (http://goo.gl/yLGFo), the battery is a 3-cell one. That video is not ours, its a shared Youtube video.
