HP 530Hewlett-Packard has added the HP 530 model to its notebook lineup. Made for budget-minded users, the 15.4-inch widescreen HP 530 laptops come with Intel Celeron M processor running at 1.46 GHz or Core Duo T2050 CPU at 1.60 GHz, and are priced at $549 and $699, respectively.

The 530 systems ship with 512MB of DDR2 memory and with 80GB 5400rpm hard drive. The cheaper Celeron model (GH635AT) incorporates Intel 940GML Express Chipset, Broadcom’s 802.11b/g wireless, a combo optical drive and Windows Vista Home Basic operating system, while the Core Duo version (GH640AT) has Intel 945GM Express Chipset, Intel 802.11a/b/g wireless, a DVD burner, and Windows Vista Business. Both HP 530 configurations feature the integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, Ethernet LAN, 56k modem, two USB ports, PCMCIA card slot and VGA monitor output.

HP 530 notebooks weigh approximately six pounds and come with 4-cell Lithium-Ion battery.

The battery life for the 4-cell is only 2hrs 43 min according to HP Tech.

There is an 8-cell battery, but they’re vague at best and finally said that the battery life extended to 3 hrs and depended on what software one was running.
