Medison Celebrity, a Linux-powered laptop PC priced at only $150 US dollars, is available and ships within four to six weeks, Engadget reports.
The Celebrity notebook, probably the world’s most affordable laptop currently, features a 14-inch widescreen display with 1280-by-768 pixel resolution, Intel Celeron M Processor 370 at 1.5 GHz, a 256MB DDR2 memory expandable up to 1GB, a 40GB hard drive, and a Combo optical drive. It has the integrated VIA PN800 graphics, a 5.1-channel sound system, as well as Ethernet LAN and 802.11g wireless. There is no modem, according to notebook’s specifications.
Medison Celebrity provides a PCMCIA card slot, three USB 2.0 ports, and a VGA output.
This ultra-cheap laptop comes with an optimized Linux operating system, as well as with pre-installed office and multimedia applications.
The $150 notebook weighs around 4.85lbs with six-cell battery and is available via its website. However, Medison noted that taxes, fees, shipping and handling and any applicable restocking charges are extra, and vary.
hmm, by the looks of the engadget comments, this may well be a scam. lets try to keep it on radar until someone have gotten the actual physical product in hand.
I ordered one what have you got to lose? 2checkout has a thread in their forums about it and if its a scam they will refund the money as will your credit card co if you don’t receive physical goods.
Hi,
Please send the correct configuration details of this laptop and please let me know if you have some contact address to meet you in sweden.
kind regards,

Maybe I’m crazy but they sell laptops with current technology processors, etc. for 369 at Circuit City. What is so crazy about a 150 laptop as a jump off product for a company that doesn’t have the history in IT?
How much profit do you think is in the 369.00 model sold retail?
I ordered one and will see.
