Asus G550JK-DS71 Gaming Laptop

The Asus G550JK-DS71 is a 15.6-inch gaming laptop with a sleek profile of 1.1″. Instead of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 860M video card used in similarly thin gaming notebooks, Asus has opted in for the GTX 850M 2GB GDDR3 GPU. You’ll probably have to dial down some graphics settings if you want to play the latest games at high frame rates on the G550JK-DS71’s native resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Let’s also mention that the display sports IPS technology for wide viewing angles.

The processor is, on the other hand, among the fastest in laptops. It’s the 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4710HQ quad-core at 2.5-3.5GHz. The CPU is helped by 8GB of RAM memory and is expandable to 16GB. The hard drive is a 750GB unit. It’s faster than the usual 5,400rpm HDDs and spins at 7,200rpm. A DVD burner is included.

The ASUS G550JK-DS71 also shines in the audio department. Besides the built-in stereo speakers, it comes bundled with an external subwoofer for better bass.

The keyboard is a backlit one, with isle-style keys. It includes a numiric pad.
