Brand

Asus is among the top 10 laptop makers by the world's market share. The manufacturer makes some of the most popular laptop series, including the mainstream Vivobook, premium-class Zenbook, and the ROG gaming series.
Laptop Type

This laptop features a clamshell-only design, without the ability to convert into a tablet.
Performance

The mid-range performance of this laptop allows you to easily complete your daily home and office computing tasks. It additionally has some potential for heavier duties like professional photo and video editing. However, if you regularly perform these tasks, a high-performance laptop is recommended. More information about the laptop's performance can be found in the CPU, GPU, RAM, and Storage sections below.
Screen Size

The 14" laptop screens are a compromise between portability of 13.3" or smaller laptop displays and comfort of the popular 15.6-inchers.
Screen Resolution

Full HD (FHD) is the most common laptop screen resolution today. It provides a good image sharpness and a decent amount of space on the display for the user interface and programs. However, it isn't as good as the top-tier 4K Ultra HD. On the positive side, FHD tends to consume less power than 4K.
Touchscreen

The screen supports finger touch input, including multi-touch gestures.
Other Display Specs

OLED display type provides wide viewing angles, low power consumption, and deeper blacks than on the IPS type screens.

The glossy reflective displays provide vivid colors, but are prone to ambient light reflections.

Processor (CPU) Intel Core Ultra 5 125H

The Intel Core Ultra 5 125H is an upper-mid-range processor you can find in laptops released in 2024. It is a excellent CPU for the daily computing tasks, with some additional oomph for advanced stuff like media creation. It is not as fast as its Ultra 7 155H sibling, nor the full-blown 14th Gen Intel Core H high-performance CPU series. On the other side, the Ultra 5 125H consumes more battery power than the slower mid-range chips from the classic Intel Core U-series.
About Processors The laptop's processor (CPU) is the main chip of the system and a very important computing performance factor.
Graphics (GPU) Intel Graphics of Intel Core Ultra H series CPUs

The Intel Core Ultra H series processors feature the Intel Arc graphics. However, if a laptop with these processors doesn't have at least 16GB of RAM in dual channel mode (i.e. 2 x 8GB), the Arc name can't be used. The graphics of these laptops and their processors is called simply Intel Graphics instead. 3D gaming and graphics performance of the Intel Graphics-marked laptops is weaker than of the Intel Arc-branded ones. In both cases, graphics performance is basic, with ability to run only light games and select heavier titles on the lowest game detail settings.
About Graphics Processors Graphics processor (GPU) is the main factor for 3D gaming performance. It also affects performance of other graphics intensive tasks like some image and video editing operations.
System Memory (RAM) Size

The 8GB RAM size is the standard one in 2023. It provides comfortable multi-tasking for the most home and office users. Keep in mind that 8GB may be not enough for some demanding programs and many newer games.
About RAM System memory (RAM) size determines multi-tasking capability of a laptop - how many tasks and programs you can run at the same time. Some programs and games may require large RAM to run properly.

User Reviews, Questions and Answers

Below you can read and submit user reviews, questions, and answers about the Asus Zenbook 14 OLED Q415MA-U5512. Thank you for your contribution.

  1. Question

    Joe

Can you upgrade RAM to achieve Intel Arc graphics level?

    • Dan

Based on the specs on the Asus site, RAM is “on board”, meaning soldered onto the motherboard, and there’s no mention of any kind of RAM slot for upgrades. It says the 8GB on board RAM is dual-channel, but the laptop doesn’t meet the 16GB RAM requirement to get the Intel Arc badge. https://www.asus.com/us/laptops/for-home/zenbook/asus-zenbook-14-oled-q415/techspec/
