The Viliv X70EX, a 1.46-pound Mobile Internet Device with a 7-inch touch screen, is now available for purchase in the US.
Newegg sells three X70EX models - the basic X70EX Express P with the Intel Atom Z515 CPU at 1.20GHz and a 16GB solid state drive; the X70EX Premium P with the Atom Z520 at 1.33GHz and a 32GB SSD, and the X70EX Premium 3GP that upgrades the Premium P with a HSPA 3G mobile broadband module and a GPS receiver.
All three models run Windows XP Home OS and feature a display resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, 1GB of DDR2 memory, 802.11b/g Wireless LAN, Bluetooth, a 1.3MP web camera, a microphone, stereo speakers, an SDHC card reader, a USB host and USB link port, and a multi I/O port.
The device doesn’t have a physical keyboard. Instead, it uses a virtual haptic keyboard technology, that enables users to feel a press of a key on the onscreen keyboard.
According to Yukyung Technologies, the maker of the Viliv devices, the X70EX’s battery lasts up to 5.5 hours when playing video and up to 150 hours in stand-by mode. The MID is capable of playing 720p HD video.
The Viliv X70EX Express P, X70EX Premium P, and X70EX Premium 3GP are priced at $600, $730, and $880 respectively.
Update: The device is also available at Amazon, Buy.com, Dynamism, OnSale and others.
These have been on Amazon for a while (along with other Viliv MIDs) and available from Dynamism for even longer than that.
