ABS Mayhem Blackhawk – New Lightweight Gaming Notebook

Mayhem BlackhawkABS Computer Technologies has announced the new 14.1-inch widescreen Mayhem Blackhawk gaming notebook, featuring Intel Core 2 Duo Merom processor and NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 graphics with 256MB of video memory.

Mayhem Blackhawk weighs around 5.5 lbs (corrected – previously reported 3.2 lbs). It achieved 3127 points in 3DMark 05 benchmark, according to ABS, but there is no information on battery life provided.

Priced at $1,499, the Mayhem Blackhawk basic configuration includes Core 2 Duo T7200 at 2.0GHz, which can be upgraded to T7400 and T7600 CPUs, as well as 1GB of DDR2 667MHz memory upgradeable to 2GB. You can choose between SATA hard drives with 80GB, 100GB, 120GB and 160GB of storage capacity. The laptop incorporates DVD burner and Realtek ALC883 HD audio.

ABS Mayhem Blackhawk is based on Intel Mobile 945PM Express Chipset. The notebook has wireless and Gigabit Ethernet LAN connections, built-in 56K modem, an optional Bluetooth and a built in 1.3M Pixel CMOS web camera.

There is a variety of ports and slots provided including three USB ports, external monitor and TV otuputs, ExpressCard and PCMCIA slots, Kensington Lock slot, and a 3-in-1 card reader.

The Blackhawk comes with Windows XP or Windows Vista operating system and is available for purchase at ABS web site.

    The barebook of the Mayhem Blackhawk is Compal GL-30. And the screen resolution of the laptop is WXGA 1280X800. And the whole computer weighs about 2.5kg.

  2. There’s a problem on the website. Is it 3.28 pounds or 2.4 kilograms?

    The tech specs say 3.28 pounds / 2.4 Kg but

    2.4 Kg is not 3.28 pounds, so which is it? (It’s 2.2 pounds per kilogram.)
