The Acer Aspire V5-571-6605 is another representative of the 15.6-inch ultra-thin notebook category. Featuring the Intel Core i3-2367M, the V5-571-6605 is powered by the CPU frequently used in ultrabooks. The chip is from the last year’s Intel “Sandy Bridge” (2nd Gen) lineup, with the Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics. The CPU is considerably slower than the 3rd Gen ultrabook-use i3s and with its performance it sits between the entry full-voltage Celeron B820 and Pentium B950. This V5 configuration, which is probably the cheapest one with its price of around $450, comes with 6GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive.
The laptop measures 0.9″ in profile and weighs 5.1 pounds. Acer has managed to squeeze in this thin chassis a DVD burner, besides stereo speakers and a 4-cell battery good for maximal 5 hours of run time, according to the PC maker.
Besides the older processor, the V5-571-6605 comes with older Windows 7 instead of the latest 8 version, so it definitely doesn’t pack the latest technologies. However, its sleek “silky silver” chassis looks very modern. It has isle keyboard keys and a seamless trackpad, but keyboard backlight is unfortunately not present. On the other side, a dedicated numeric pad is there.
The notebook has Bluetooth for wireless connecting to your cell phone or some of the BT peripherals. Other connectivity options are average, including Wi-Fi, LAN, one USB 3.0 and two 2.0 ports, HDMI and VGA video connectors, and a 2-in-1 card reader.
