The Canadian PC maker Eurocom has announced the D900C PHANTOM FSB1066 Mobile Workstation, its high-performance notebook computer featuring a 17-inch widescreen, a desktop-use Intel Core 2 Extreme processor with 1066MHz front side bus, two graphics cards running in SLI mode and up to 600GB of storage capacity with RAID 0/1/5 using three hard drives.
Eurocom D900C PHANTOM, which is based on Clevo’s D900C, comes with a maximum of 4GB of main memory. Users can choose currently between two different NVIDIA graphics cards – the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX with 512MB of RAM or the NVIDIA Quadro FX 2500M with 512MB of RAM, and can additionally select a choice of a single graphics card or two in NVIDIA SLI mode. For easy video card upgradeability, i.e. to GeForce Go 8 series, Eurocom D900C uses Nvidia MXM-IV (Mobile PCI Express Module), according to the notebook maker.
The new PHANTOM has a UPS battery and weighs “under 12lbs”.
“It’s like we crammed a workstation-caliber PC complete with Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) into a notebook form factor,” said Mark Bialic, President of Eurocom. “It may be large, but this is one extremely fast notebook that replaces desktop based workstation with over 1 hour of built-in UPS battery.â€
Additional PHANTOM D900C features include an integrated webcam, a Bluetooth and a Wireless superG 108Mbps A/B/G networking, an internal TV HDTV Tuner and a theatre audio system.
EUROCOM D900C PHANTOM supports variety of 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems from Microsoft Vista Business or Ultimate, Microsoft Server 2003 64-bit to Linux.
Currently, there is no information on pricing. The notebook will be available starting on April 30.
