The HP 2000-329WM 15.6-inch notebook was priced at $248 on Black Friday at Walmart. During the ongoing Cyber Week, the retailer offers it in a nice bundle with a carrying case, wireless mouse and multi-function printer for $349.

The HP 2000-329WM has the AMD E-350 Fusion chip with dual cores and a 1.6GHz clock speed and a decent amount of ram RAM and hard drive storage: 3GB and 320GB, respectively. The laptop includes the AMD Radeon HD 6310 integrated graphics, which is capable of some basic 3D gaming, as well as a hardware decoder of 1080p high-def videos.
According to the specifications, the HP 2000-329WM has a web camera, but it has no HDMI output. This is a 2000 series notebook, which has a DVD burner, 6-cell battery, Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, three USB ports, VGA video output, and a media card reader.
Its design is nothing to write home about. It’s cladded in black plastics and has dimensions of a common 15.6-inch notebook from the lower-end segment.
The included inkjet color printer in the bundle is the HP Deskjet 1051 All-in-One, which can print, scan and copy documents and images. The bundled case is suitable for laptops with up to 16″ screens, while the mouse is a wireless one, with optical technology.

Walmart’s Cyber Week ends on Friday, 12/02/2011.
Biggest ripoff of my life. Multiple problems within one week of opening the box. May have been just a lemon but the runaround I got from the loathsome offshore Tech Support dept. lasted just long enough to let my return window at Walmart expire. HP policy is no returns, no exchanges after 21 days (if ever). I’m told this after 9 more days of “tech support” and 12 hrs, 35 min., on the phone trying to get resolution. The agonizing experience is almost comical it was so horrible. Soon I will be the proud owner of a repaired 329WM which is only 33 days old. The only way I can calm my self is by writing the very well deserved bad review on every site I can possibly find. Never buy anything HP!
Just called Frys to see about ram upgrading the 2000-329WM to the 8g max supported. Frys guy said he was missing a speed measurement that wasnt mention in the spec sheet. Ram recommendations anybody?
i just bought the hp 2000-329wm it seems a little slow with the cpu at 1.6 shared ram instead of three its only using 2.5 i think i was trying to find a battery back up to buy anyone have any reasonalable place to buy one hp is way to much …thanks
I am computer illiterate to say the least. I am a 35 year old single father raising my son alone. Is this a good choice for him to do what nine year olds do? I hope it is. He just plays games and knows more about them than I do. I need to get educated on these things for sure but what the heck, he will figure it out before I can. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
Best Buy has the Lenovo laptop on sale for 179.99 black friday. The specs are similar to the HP at Walmart with the exeption of a 2GB DDR3 and a 250GB SATA hard drive. Which is the better deal?
what about weight?
There’s no word about the weight on the product page at Walmart, but the HP g7 series laptops usually weigh about six pounds.
To upgrade the RAM how many pins does this laptop take? 204 or 240?
It supports DDR3, so that’s 204-pin memory.
