HP Compaq 2710p Tablet PC Available

HP Compaq 2710pHewlett-Packard’s 12.1-inch HP Compaq 2710p tablet PC, based on Intel Centrino “Santa Rosa” platform, is now available for purchase.

Intel Core 2 Duo Ultra Low Voltage processor paired with Intel GM965 chipset featuring integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 powers HP Compaq 2710p convertible notebook. The new tablet PC is currently offered with 1GB or 2GB of main DDR2 memory, which is expandable up to 4GB. It is configurable with up to 100GB 4200 rpm SMART PATA hard drive. Regarding optical drive, there is an option of HP 2700 Ultra-Slim Expansion Base dock with 7mm DVD+/-RW SuperMulti Drive.

The 2710p has 12.1-inch 1280 × 800 widescreen anti-glare display with Digitizer, LED backlight, and Ambient light sensor. Additionally, HP offers a choice of an optional display suited for outdoor viewing. For pen input there is Digital Eraser Pen with tether and clip.

HP Compaq 2710p has a variety of wireless connectivity options: integrated HP ev2200 1xEV-DO Broadband Wireless Module; integrated HP hs2300 HSDPA Broadband Wireless Module; Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN (with 802.11n draft wireless capability); Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AG; Integrated Broadcom 4311AG WiFi Adapter; and HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth 2.0 Wireless Technology.

It also has Gigabit Ethernet and a 56k modem, while for video chat and conferencing select 2710p configurations include 2-megapixel camera.

Regarding ports and slots, there are two USB ports, VGA output, ExpressCard slot, and secure digital slot.

HP Compaq 2710p has fingerprint sensor and TPM 1.2 chip for enhanced security.

This tablet PC has a starting price of $1,649 at Hewlett-Packards website. The offered preconfigured models ship with Windows Vista, but the specifications say that this tablet PC also comes with Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, or FreeDOS preloaded.
