Sold exclusively through Walmart, the Folio 13-1029wm carries a very affordable $698 price tag for the ultrabook standards. The 1.4GHz i3-2367M dual-core CPU belongs to the older generation of chips, released last year under “Sandy Bridge” codename. As expected, the processor with 1,834 PassMark points is slower than the “Sandy Bridge” i5 and i7 ultrabook-use chips starting at more than 2,400 points, as well as the latest “Ivy Bridge” comparable parts such as the i3-3217U at 1.8GHz with a 2,670 score. It houses one USB 3.0, another two with 2.0 speed, HDMI output, and a 2-in-1 multimedia card reader. For Internet connectivity, the laptop faetures Wi-Fi and Gigabit LAN. Bluetooth is also included.
Design-wise, the utilitarian- and business-class-looking ultrabook with slightly rounded corners features brushed aluminum on the lid and palm rests, while the bottom is made of black plastics. Its black keyboard isle-style keys are also plastic. An extra feature is keyboard backlight.
Regarding physical specifications, it’s worth noting that the Folio is somewhat heavier than an average ultrabook. It weighs about 3.25 pounds and is 0.7 inch thin.
