Today we will take a look at the HP m6-1035dx notebook. It’s an AMD powered model from the latest Pavilion m6 series, featuring a 15.6-inch display size and a slim aluminum design.

The main difference between the HP m6-1035dx Pavilion and other models are its core components. The laptop comes with the AMD Quad-Core A10-4600M Accelerated Processor with AMD Radeon HD 7660G graphics from the chip maker’s latest “Trinity” processor family. Other CPUs used in the m6 systems are the lower-end AMD Quad-Core A8-4500M coupled with the dedicated AMD Radeon HD 7670M video card in some models and the Intel Core i5-3210M dual-core CPU which is by default paired with the HD 7670M.

Here’s a quick PassMark comparison of the available CPUs and GPUs on the Pavilion m6:

  • AMD A10-4600M quad-core 2.3-3.2GHz, 4MB L2 cache: 5,223 3176 points
  • AMD A8-4500M quad-core 1.9-2.8GHz, 4MB L2 cache: 4,474 points
  • Intel Core i5-3210M dual-core 2.6-3.0GHz, 3MB L3 cache: 3,654 points
  • Radeon HD 7660G (A10-4600M): 653 points
  • Radeon HD 7640G (A8-4500M): no data available, it very likely slightly slower than the 7660G
  • AMD Radeon HD 7670M 2GB dedicated: 854 points

According to these results, the m6-1035dx should be faster than other models, except in the graphics department where systems with dedicated graphics have advantage.

Other than the AMD “Trinity” APU, the laptop has 6GB of DDR3 memory, a 640GB hard disk drive at 5,400rpm, and a DVD burner. The official battery life estimation is up to nine hours, which is exceptional if it’s accurate. But, nine hours is the most likely achieved with the lightest possible laptop use and lowest screen brightness.

It’s worth noting that this system comes with keyboard backlight, which is not present on every model. It comes in black color, whereas a silver chassis is used on some other configurations.

The HP m6-1035dx is priced at $600.

  1. Bought one, added a Seagate 750GB 64MB cache / 7200rpm ST750LX003 drive and G.SKILL 16GB (2 x 8G) 204-Pin DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800). This thing has wings. Faster now than my Asus g74 with i7 and similar memory config. Amazing and very portable. Best deal in a long time.
