Dell Inspiron I7547-3020SLV 15.6″ Premium Touch Laptop with Intel i5 CPU, 1TB HDD

The Dell Inspiron I7547-3020SLV 15.6-inch laptop belongs to the refreshed Inspiron 7000 series, characterized by premium thin-and-light design and good components.

As one of the first available configurations, the I7547-3020SLV is a mid-range one. It is based on the Intel Core i5-4210U dual-core processor with the Intel HD 4400 integrated graphics. Together with 6GB of RAM, a spacious 1-Terabyte hard drive, and other parts, it is encased in a 0.8″ slim aluminum chassis with silver LCD lid and dark gray keyboard deck. The touch-screen display has 1080p resolution and IPS technology, so it provides a better picture sharpness and wider viewing angles than the ordinary 15.6″ 720p non-IPS screens. Overall, the system provides performance sufficient for the daily chores, plus more advanced stuff like video/photo editing. If you do the latter on regular basis, getting a Core i7 version instead is a good investment. As for games, the included Intel HD 4400 IGP is good enough only for lower-end gaming.

Rounding off the premium nature of the laptop, there are keyboard backlight and Intel’s Wi-Di technology for hooking up to external displays wirelessly. The laptop has no built-in optical drive, but present are a 1.3-megapixel web camera, stereo speakers, 802.11AC Wi-Fi wireless, Bluetooth, three USB ports, HDMI video output, a media card reader, and an audio combo jack. The Ethernet LAN network port has been omitted.

The new 15 7000 series is very light. It weighs in at just 4.5 pounds, whereas the ordinary 15.6-inchers weigh more than 5 pounds.

There’s no info on battery life provided by the built-in 3-cell battery.
