Dell Latitude 14 7000 E7470 Thin & Light 14″ Business Laptop
The Dell Latitude 14 7000 E7470 is a 14-inch business laptop, packed with numerous features in a thin and light chassis. With its starting weight of 3.1 pounds, the Latitude E7470 is one of the lightest notebooks on the market. Also, it’s quite sleek with a profile of 0.8″.
Dell has used lightweight magnesium alloy as the main material for the chassis. Users ordering a touchscreen-enabled configuration with sharp QHD 2560×1440-pixel resolution can optionally choose woven carbon fiber finish on the LCD lid instead of alloy. To further enhance durability, the aforementioned display option includes egde-to-edge Corning Gorilla Glass, known for its scratch resistance. The most basic display resolution option is HD 1366×768, followed by HD+ 1600×900 and Full HD 1920×1080. These displays don’t offer touch support, but instead provide anti-reflective finish as a plus. IPS wide viewing angles is present on select configurations. Keyboard backlight is also optional.
Under the hood, the Dell Latitude 14 7000 E7470 packs Intel’s computing technology, namely the 6th Gen Core U “Skylake” processors. The CPU choices are the lower-mid-range Intel Core i3, mid-tier Core i5, and upper-mid-range i7, all with dual computing cores and Intel HD 520 integrated graphics. They are all perfectly suitable for routine office tasks, like web browsing, running popular productivity software like Microsoft Office, or email communication. RAM size choices aren’t as robust as in some other business laptops. You can have either 4 or 8 Gigabytes of DDR4 RAM. Still, it’s enough large for usual multitasking operations. Instead of sluggish hard drives, Dell utilizes fast solid state drive-based storage in the Latitude E7470. SSD capacity choices range from 128GB to 512GB.
Internet connectivity is enabled via Wi-Fi 802.11AC wireless, Ethernet LAN port, and optionally mobile broadband wireless. There are also stereo speakers, a web camera, three USB 3.0 ports, dual video outputs – HDMI and mini-DisplayPort, a multi-format media card reader, and a combo audio port. Security can be enhanced using optional SmartCard and fingerprint readers.
Two battery capacity choices are offered – a medium-level 37 WHr and more capacious 55 WHr for above-average battery life. Dell however hasn’t provided battery life estimations for the E7470.
The laptop ships with Pro versions of Windows 10 or Windows 7.
