Dell XPS 12 9250 12.5″ 2-in-1 (Detachable Keyboard, Intel Core M, 8GB RAM, 128/256GB SSD)
The Dell XPS 12 9250 is Dell’s contender on the premium-class ultraportable 2-in-1 PC market. With its detachable 12.5-inch high-resolution display, supporting touch and active pen input, and Intel’s power-saving Core M-series processors, the XPS 12 9250 competes directly against the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, HP Spectre x2, and Lenovo Miix 700.
The XPS 12 9250 features either 1920×1080 Full HD pixel count on the screen or optionally even sharper UHD 4K 3840×2160 picture. As expected, IPS technology for wide viewing angles is present. The screen is covered with scratch-resistant edge-to-edge Corning Gorilla Glass NBT. The touch display features active digitizer layer, but the active pen for it is sold separately. Another input method is via keyboard and trackpad deck, which connects to the screen via magnetic hinge. The keyboard keys have backlight beneath them.

The body of the device is made of magnesium alloy, covered with soft touch paint. The tablet portion weighs 1.8 pounds and is only 0.3″ thick, while combined with the keyboard weight and thickness are 2.8 pounds and 0.6″-1″.
The tablet part carries inside the Intel Core m5-6Y54 mid-range power-efficient dual-core processor with Intel HD 515 integrated graphics, 8GB of on-board RAM memory, either 128GB or 256GB of solid state drive storage, and a 30 WHr battery. There’s no info on battery life.
The XP 12 9250 has only one speaker instead of dual, according to the official specs. It however has dual cameras. The frontal cam one sports a 5-megapixel sensor, while the rear shooter is 8MP. For getting you online, Dell has provided 802.11AC wireless connection. The device is also expected to be available with 4G LTE mobile broadband connectivity and is Bluetooth-enabled. This modern 2-in-1 PC features two USB-C type ports instead of traditional full-size USBs. One of the USB-C port supports Thunderbolt 3 technology with rapidly fast input/output performance. Video output is also delivered via USB-C, with help of separately sold adapter cables. Furthermore, included are a multi-format SD card reader and a combo audio jack for connecting headphones, external speakers, and microphones.
