Lenovo IdeaPad 300 15 – 15.6″ Budget Laptop
The Lenovo IdeaPad 300 15 is a budget-class laptop PC with a 15.6-inch display. This no-frills notebook isn’t designed to impress power users. It’s rather for those who want to get their daily home and office jobs done, not much more than that.
Lenovo’s IdeaPad 300 15 doesn’t feature a fancy IPS wide viewing angle screen, keyboard backlight, nor fast solid state drive storage. Also the chassis is purely made of plastics. However, you can optionally add some nice perks if you’re willing to pay for pricier configurations. Besides the standard 1366×768, you can order the IdeaPad 300 with a Full HD 1920×1080 display. Processor choices besides the basic Intel Pentium 4405U processor include more powerful Intel Core i-series. Available are the Intel Core i5-6200U and i7-6500U for those who want more computing power for computing intensive tasks. System memory size is either 4GB for the basic multitasking or 8GB for power users running many programs simultaneously. As for storage, the old-school hard drives are the only option. You can choose between 500GB and 1 Terabyte capacities.
The system includes a built-in DVD writer, Dolby Advanced Audio optimized stereo speakers, a 720p 1-megapixel web camera, 802.11AC Wi-Fi wireless, Ethernet LAN port, Bluetooth, HDMI and VGA external display outputs, one USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, a multi-format SD card reader, and a combo headphones / microphone connector.
The laptop comes with a modest 32 WHr battery capacity, which is enough for “up to 4 hours” of battery life, according to Lenovo.
The IdeaPad 300 is available with a black, silver, or red paint on the display lid.
If you generally like this notebook, but want a dedicated video card in it for improved gaming experience, you can check out the similar IdeaPad 500 series.

ughhhhh, most fruatrating laptop, nasical useless. Everytime i turn it on it is bogged up for at least a hour with firm wear using up all the hardrive space. I have tried to uninstall, but no luck. Basocally like owning a laptop with bad virus from day one. purchased at micro center. biggest waste of money. End up using my work Laptop instead

How can you detach the battery from the laptop.
Am using one,but there is no indication at back of the laptop that you can detach the battery.

If the bottom of your laptop is covered with a single piece of plastics from end-to-end, that means the battery is sealed inside. You’ll have to remove the bottom cover to replace the battery.

are this laptop suitable for engineering student? does it work good with autocad and other software?

Danijel Z –
For Autocad and similar programs recommended are more powerful laptops – with dedicated video cards and preferably fast processors such as the quad-core Intel Core i7. However, you can run these applications even on the IdeaPad 300, but performance will be noticeably lower than on laptops with dedicated GPUs / fast CPUs. So, if you plan to use CAD and similar on daily basis, it appears to be wise to invest in a pricier but more powerful notebook.

NOT AT ALL. It heats up extremely quickly, making it very unbearable to the hands. And when running like just 1 game(Asphalt 8), the trackpad doesn’t work very well. Especially when the whole contraption is plastic, components may melt easily. The keyboard is disgusting to type on after some time, and if you have ALREADY wasted your money to buy one, go to Windows power options click high performance > change plan Settings > Advanced settings and then put EVERY SINGLE THING to MAXIMUM, and although it eats your battery, EVERYTHING SIGNIFICANTLY SPEEDS UP by around 35%.
