MSI GS70 Stealth Pro(-006) Slim 17.3-Inch Gaming Laptop with 6th Gen Intel Core, Nvidia 970M, NVMe

MSI has recently updated the GS70 Stealth Pro 17.3-inch mid-range gaming notebook series. The slim mobile gaming rig now comes with the 6th Generation Intel Core Skylake i7 CPU instead of 4th Gen and features PCIe Gen3x4 and NVMe SSD technologies for extremely fast data storage speed.

As opposed to the common 17.3″ gaming laptops, the aluminum-topped GS70 Stealth Pro isn’t bulky. It has a profile of only 0.9″ and a light weight of 5.7 pounds. Currently, there’s a single Skylake-based configuration available on the market – the MSI GS70 Stealth Pro-006, also known as 9S7-177515-006. Inside, it carries the Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M 3GB video card, the Intel Core i7-6700HQ quad-core processor, 16GB of system memory, a 128GB PCIe Gen3x4 and NVMe solid state drive with reading speeds “up to five times” faster than common SATA 3 SSD’s, and a classic 1-Terabyte 7,200rpm hard drive.

The screen has a Full HD resolution. There’s no explicit mention of IPS wide viewing angle technology, but MSI claims the GS70 Stealth Pro-006 does feature wide display viewing angles.

The rest of the specifications sheet includes the SteelSeries keyboard with customizable backlit color and programmable keys, stereo sound system with quad speakers plus a subwoofer, gaming optimized Killer Wi-Fi AC and Gigabit LAN network interfaces, support for up to three external monitors thanks to HDMI port and dual mini DisplayPort video outputs, four USB ports, a Full HD web camera, SD card reader, and separate mic and headphone audio connectors.
