MSI GS70 Stealth & Stealth Pro Slim 17.3-Inch Gaming Laptop

MSI’s GS70 Stealth 17.3-inch notebook series is a gaming laptop PC which isn’t all about gaming performance. It stands out with its sleek chassis with a profile of only 0.9” and a relatively light weight of 5.7 pounds, making it thinner and lighter than the average gaming notebook.

The main trade-off is its mid-tier gaming performance, which is nevertheless sufficient for playing the latest blockbuster game titles on high-to-maximal settings. Inside its aluminum chassis, the MSI GS70 Stealth packs Nvidia upper-mid-range GeForce video cards and Intel’s Core i7 quad-core processors. Depending on model, it’s either the GeForce GTX 965M 2GB or GTX 970M 3GB or 6GB graphics and a 4th Generation i7 Haswell CPU or the latest 5th Gen i7 Broadwell version. A 1-Terabyte hard drive at 7200rpm is a standard feature, while an additional 128GB or 256GB mSATA solid state drive is present on select models. RAM size is either 12 or 16 Gigabytes.

The sharp Full HD 1080p display resolution and anti-glare screen coating are standard on all models. MSI doesn’t list “wide viewing angles” on any model except the Stealth-280, but even than doesn’t necessarily mean it has IPS technology. What also all GS70 configurations have in common are the SteelSeries chiclet-style keyboard with customizable backlit color and fully programmable keys, 2.1 sound system with subwoofer, Nahimic virtual surround sound technology, gaming optimized Killer network technology on both wireless and wired network interfaces, and support for up to three external monitors thanks to HDMI port and dual mini DisplayPort video outputs.
