NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTXNVIDIA released today the GeForce 8800M GTX and GeForce 8800M GTS video cards, which are claimed to be “the world’s fastest notebook GPUs” .

These 256-bit cards fill the top enthusiast GPU product positions in the NVIDIA GeForce 8M Series product line.

As a part of the 8M Series, the NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX and 8800M GTS are compatible with the latest DirectX 10 games, and incorporate the NVIDIA PureVideo HD engine for hardware decoding of HD DVD, Blu-ray, and HD movie content. The GeForce 8M Series also contain NVIDIA’s PowerMizer technology that intelligently balances battery life and performance.

The only difference between the 8800M GTX and the 8800M GTS is the number of stream processors. The higher end 8800M GTX has 96 stream processors, while the GTS version has 64.
