Although I believed the Intel Core i3 and i7 processors inside the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 tablet will be from the next generation Intel Broadwell chip family, it turned out that they’ll be actually the current Haswell chips. Namely the Intel Core i7-4650U and i3-4020Y. They will accompany the i5-4300U as the already known option.

Microsoft Targets Laptop Users with Surface Pro 3 Tablet
Microsoft unveiled today the Surface Pro 3 Windows-based tablet. With its keyboard accessory, kickstand on the back, and a larger 12″ display than the 10.6″ on the Pro 2, the new device targets the traditional laptop users. At the same time, you’re getting a quite portable tablet despite the bigger screen. It only 0.36″ inches thin and weighs 1.76 pounds.

Microsoft has made available for pre-orders the battery-equipped Surface Power Cover keyboard, which “extends the battery life of your Surface up to 70% and doubles as a screen cover.” The Power Keyboard which is compatible with Surface 2, Surface Pro, and Surface Pro 2 tablets is priced at $199.99 and is expected to start shipping on March 19th.
