About Lenovo IdeaPad U300s

Lenovo’s IdeaPad U300s ultrabook is now official. The company has launched this ultra-thin and lightweight laptop with Intel ultra-low voltage processors at the IFA show in Berlin.

Their first ultrabook has a 13.3″ 1366×768 display, as well as Core i7-2677M or i5-2457M ULV CPU, 4GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of solid state storage, all packed into a 0.6″ thin all-aluminum chassis. The weight with the standard 4-cell battery (providing “up to 8 hours” of productivity) is 2.9 pounds.

What’s innovative and never seen on a laptop is its cooling. The vents pull air through the openings located alongside the hinge and blows it through the keyboard. At the same time, hot air from the components is pushed through the vent holes located on the left side of the laptop, while its bottom is vents-free, so you don’t have to worry about heat on your lap.

The Lenovo IdeaPad U300s has an isle style keyboard, a large touchpad made of a piece of glass, a USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 port, HDMI, a 1.3MP webcam, Bluetooth, and Wireless Display tech.

The ultrabook will ship in gray or orange color and will be available in November for $1,195 and up.

The company has also announced it will offer the U300 and U400 IdeaPads, which are a little bit thicker than the U300s (“s”=slim).
