With the new Motorola ET1 Android tablet the company is targeting corporate users, just like the Panasonic slate.

The ET1 or Enterprise Tablet 1 runs Android 2.3.4 on a 7-inch capacitive multi-touch display with 1024×600 resolution, 350-nit brightness, and Gorilla glass on the top of it. The tablet diferentiate itself from consumer oriented ones by delivering a higher level of ruggedness which meets MIL ST D 810G standards, a hot-swapable battery, a multi-user login feature with different level of accessability for different users, business-use apps, remote manageability, security enhanced with data encryption, and a camera which suports bar code capturing. Also, the Motorola ET1 can be used with peripherals such as a magnetic stripe reader, scaner, or portable printer.

The battery can be replaced without shut down, thanks to a built-in 15-minute battery which powers the system when the main unit is removed. The standard battery can provide a full-shift run time with Wi-Fi on and video streaming, according to Motorola.
Under the hood, the 1.4-pound Motorola ET1 features a dual-core OMAP4 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, an SD card slot for storage expansion, a rear facing 8MP 720p camera with flash light and a front webcam, 802.11n Wi-Fi module, Bluetooth 2.1, and GPS. It has a USB 2.0 OTG connector (docking connector), USB 2.0 host port (expansion module port) and HDMI-out.

The Motorola ET1 is expected to hit the market by the end of the year with a sub-$1,000 price tag.
