The Asus Zenbook UX330UA-AH54 and UX330UA-AH5Q are the latest ultra-slim laptops with 13.3-inch displays. The only difference between these models is screen resolution. The UX330UA-AH54 features Full HD (1920×1080-pixel) resolution, while the UX330UA-AH5Q uses a QHD+ 3200×1800 display. Other main specs for both models include an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, a 256GB solid state drive with Windows 10 Home installed on it, and keyboard backlight.

The UX330UA-AH54 and UX330UA-AH5Q weigh in at only 2.6 pounds. They are only a half inch thin. Inside their ultra slim silver aluminum casings they pack the 7th Generation Intel Core i5-7200U dual-core CPU as the heart of the system. The chip delivers great performance for the usual day-to-day computing tasks, as shown in our review of the i5-7200U. More powerful CPUs, like the quad-core Intel Core i7, are needed only if you want to do some advanced work. For instance, video and music production or playing some AAA games. Speaking of gaming, the Asus Zenbook UX330UA-AH54 and UX330UA-AH5Q aren’t designed for that. But still, you can play many of the popular game titles thanks to decent Intel HD 620 integrated graphics. We reviewed the HD 620 here. RAM size of 8GB is big enough to meet all multitasking needs of home and office users. The included 256GB solid state drive is not only a fast storage solution but also decently capacious, rounding off Asus’ great selection of internal components.

External main parts of these Zenbooks are excellent, too. Besides crispy display resolutions, both the Full HD and QHD+ screen variants feature IPS technology for wide viewing angles and anti-glare coatings. Touchscreen isn’t supported, so interaction with Windows 10 and software relies on the full-size backlit keyboard without numeric pad and a big trackpad with “mouse” buttons integrated in the surface. For easier system logins and enhanced security, both laptop configurations feature a fingerprint reader. It’s built into the upper right corner of the trackpad.

Furthermore, the UX330UA-AH54 and UX330UA-AH5Q include stereo Harman Kardon-branded speaker system, a 720p web camera, 802.11AC wireless connection, Bluetooth, two USB 3.0 ports and one compact USB-C 3.1 port, micro HDMI video output, an SD memory card reader, and a combo headphones / microphone audio jack.

Asus claims the “average battery life” of the UX330UA-AH54 is “up to 12 hours”, provided by a quite capacious 57 WHr battery. There’s no info on battery life for the UX330UA-AH5Q, which has the same 57 WHr unit. Generally, higher resolution displays consume more power, so the battery life on the AH5Q should be somewhat shorter than on the AH54.
