HP Envy 15t W0Q65AV_1 15.6″ Premium Laptop (Optional Touch, Intel Core i7 CPUs)

The HP Envy 15t is a multimedia-oriented Windows 10 laptop with premium-class features. The Envy 15t packs a high-end 15.6-inch display with IPS wide viewing angles, Full HD or Ultra HD 4K resolution, optional touch-screen, a backlit keyboard, and excellent internal components, all packed in an 0.7″ slim all-aluminum chassis. The laptop is quite light too with its starting weight of 4.4 pounds.

The HP Envy 15t W0Q65AV_1 which is sold directly by Hewlett-Packard is available only with the higher-end 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7500U and i7-7560U dual-core processors, although you can find the same laptop pre-configured with the somewhat slower Core i5-7200U via third party sellers. The 7th Gen Core chips mostly include the Intel HD 620 integrated graphics, but the i7-7560U stands out with its Iris Plus 640 graphics processor. It offers smoother gaming, but it’s still just a basic graphics solution with support for non-demand PC games. Absence of a full-blown dedicated video card makes the laptop clearly a home & home office machine, instead of gaming. So, the laptop is aimed at tasks such as web browsing, movie watching, and casual low-end gaming, but it can also serve well for some advanced tasks like multimedia creation (especially the faster i7-7560U). Flawless multitasking is ensured with the offered 6GB, 8GB, 12GB, and 16GB DDR4 system memory options. As for storage, selection is quite robust. As the basic choice, you can order the HP Envy 15t W0Q65AV_1 with a 1-Terabyte hard drive only. The same drive can be combined with a 128GB or 256GB solid state drive for a balance between storage space and performance. Or you can get the Envy 15t with pure SSD storage for ultimate speed. Available SSD capacities are 256GB and 512GB. A DVD optical drive has been omitted.

Furthermore, the Envy 15t W0Q65AV_1 includes Bang & Olufsen stereo speakers, a 720p HD web camera with optional IR tech for facial-recognition (Windows Hello), 802.11AC Wi-Fi wireless, Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth, three full-size USB 3.1 ports and a compact USB-C 3.1 port, HDMI video output, a media card reader, and a combined mic / headphone connector.

The notebook features a 3-cell 52 WHr battery. According to HP, the battery life is “up to 7 hours”.

It comes with either Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Pro pre-installed, depending on customers’ choice.

Besides the HP Envy 15t W0Q65AV_1, HP.com also offers basically the same laptop under W9C44AV_1 SKU. Differences between the W0Q65AV_1 and W9C44AV_1 are minor. The former is sold via a page under title “HP ENVY Laptop 15t touch optional”, while the latter is titled “HP ENVY Laptop 15t touch”. This only means the latter page doesn’t enable you to exclude the touch-screen option to lower the price. Another difference is that the W0Q65AV_1 has 6GB as the minimal system memory size option, while on the W9C44AV_1 it’s 8GB.
