HP Pavilion 15t-ak000 15.6″ Entry-Level Gaming Laptop with Nvidia 950M, Quad-Core Intel CPUs

Hewlett-Packard has released the first Pavilion-branded gaming laptop. Pavilion is a generally lower-to-mid range notebook series, and so is the 15.6-inch Pavilion 15t-ak000 in comparison to other gaming laptops. The notebook comes with a full-blown Intel Core i7-6700HQ quad-core processor or a bit slower i5-5300HQ quad-core, both from the latest 6th Gen Core “Skylake” family, and the lower-mid-range Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M video card with 4GB video memory. The device features a HD 1366×768 or IPS-enabled Full HD 1920×1080 display, backlit keyboard, DVD burner, Bang & Olufsen stereo speakers, 8 or 16 Gigabytes of RAM, a 1-Terabyte or 2-Terabyte hard drive, and a “gradient hybrid green finish in a hexagon pattern”.

According to HP, the battery life on the Pavilion 15t-ak000 lasts “up to 8 hours” on a single charge.

As for the competition, the closest to HP’s budget gaming laptop specs- and price-wise are the Dell Inspiron 7559 and Lenovo Y700. Actually, they sport the faster Nvidia 960M video card instead of 950M.
