Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 Windows Tablet for Businesses Now Shipping

Fujitsu Stylistic Q550Fujitsu’s Stylistic Q550, a Windows 7-based tablet for business and government customers, has started shipping in the US.

The Q550 slate PC has a 10.1-inch 1280×800-pixel IPS anti-glare display that supports both multitouch and optional digital pen input. It features the Intel “Oak Trail” mobile platform with the Intel Atom Z670 1.5GHz CPU incorporating the GMA 600 series integrated graphics. The tablet has 2GB of “on-board” RAM, a 30GB or 62GB solid state drive, “up to 8 hours and 10 minutes” of battery life with the 4-cell 38 WHr user-swappable battery, and Windows 7 Professional OS. The tablet can be also purchased with a 2-cell 19 WHr unit providing up to 4-hour run time.

The Stylistic Q550 includes a front 0.3MP and rear 1.3MP web camera, mono speaker, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, optional mobile broadband, and optional GPS.

Enterprise-class security features of the Stylistic Q550 are a fingerprint reader, a Smart Card reader, Trusted Platform Module chip, and Advanced Theft Protection technology.

For business users, its ruggedness might be also important. The device meets nine MIL-STD-810G military standards that examine operation in extreme working conditions.

The tablet has a USB 2.0 port, HDMI output, an SD/SDHC memory card reader, and a SmartCard reader.

It starts at around 1.7 pounds and is 0.64 inch thin.

Fujitsu’s slate has a base price of $729 and can be purchased via the company’s online store.
