Lenovo Puts on Sale 10″ Miix 2 Windows Tablet with Keyboard

Lenovo Miix 2 10-inch Tablet

Lenovo has made available for purchase the 10-inch version of the recently announced Miix 2 hybrid laptop / tablet with Windows 8.1 OS, a detachable keyboard dock, Intel Atom “Bay Trail” processor, and 1080p IPS screen.

The first offered Lenovo Miix 2-10 – 59404513 model ships with a 128GB solid state drive and has a $699 price tag. The Miix 2 10-inch was actually expected to start at $499 and they will certainly put on sale cheaper versions later, presumably with smaller solid state drives (32GB and 64GB).

The 1.3-pound device isn’t as affordable as the Asus T100 which starts at about $350 and has the same OS, screen size, and detachable keyboard, but the Miix 2 10″ has full HD screen resolution as opposed to 720p, as well as a rear camera. Also, Lenovo’s tablet has a better equipped keyboard dock which sports a built-in subwoofer alongside a pair of stereo speakers and ability to hold the tablet in a rear-facing position. It’s so called “Stand” mode, suitable for watching movies and presentations.

Both models feature the Intel Atom Z3740 quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM memory, a microSD card slot, HDMI output, and a free copy of Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013.

The Miix 2 10″ can be ordered via Lenovo’s official online store. The larger 11″ variant with faster Intel Core processor options and $699 starting price is expected to arrive in April.
