The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has just become available for pre-order in the USA. As the name says, the Android 3.1 Honeycomb-based tablet has an 8.9-inch 1280×800 display, sitting between the Tab 10.1 and 7.7.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 GT-P7310MAvXAR, GT-P7310MAYXAR

The pair of Wi-Fi-only Galaxy Tab 8.9 models we have found on Best Buy includes the GT-P7310MAVXAR with 32GB of flash storage and the 16GB GT-P7310MAYXAR. The product specifications say the devices have 1GB of RAM. There’s no any word on processor on Best Buy’s product pages, but Samsung’s official site says the 0.34-inch thin 1-pound Tabs have a 1GHz dual-core processor inside (most likely Nvidia Tegra 2).

Othes specs are a back 3.0MP camera with flash and auto-focus, a front 2.0MP cam, a USB port, and Bluetooth 3.0. An HDMI port is apparently missing, but Full HD video output to an external screen can be done using a separately sold HDMI adapter. There’s no info on a memory slot of any kind. Specifications on Best Buy list the devices as GPS-capable, a feature which is not mentioned on Samsung.com.

The GT-P7310MAVXAR and GT-P7310MAYXAR come in Metallic Gray color and are priced at $570 and $470, respectively. The estimated arrival time is 09/25-09/30/2011.
