The Asus Flip Q502LA-BBI5T15 & Q502LA-BSI5T14 15.6-inch convertible laptop PCs deliver multi-mode laptop / tablet / stand use, Full HD display, and good performance in a sleek aluminum-skinned package.

As the main features, the Q502LA-BBI5T15 and Q502LA-BSI5T14 include the latest 5th Generation Intel Core i5-5200U processor, 8GB of RAM memory, and a 1-Terabyte hard drive, alongside the Full HD 1920×1080-pixel touch screen with IPS technology for wider viewing angles. The full-size keyboard with numeric pad has backlight beneath the keys and is accompanied by a spacious trackpad with integrated buttons.

The only difference between the Q502LA-BBI5T15 and BSI5T14 is in the software department. The former comes with the latest Windows 10 operating system, while the latter ships with old Windows 8.1. However, that’s not a big difference, since you can upgrade Windows 8.1 to 10 for free. But since both laptop have the same price tag, the BBI5T15 is obviously a better choice.

The i5-5200U dual-core CPU is one of the most optimal solutions for day-to-day tasks, but it is also suitable for the occasional intensive duties such as high-resolution photography or video editing. The chip contains the Intel HD 5500 integrated graphics processor. It can handle very well casual, retro or indie titles, but can also run many of the latest blockbusters at dialed down graphics detail settings and resolution. 8GB RAM enables multitasking with many programs running without slowdowns. The 1TB HDD is very capacious, but rotates at slow 5,400rpm rotational speed and greatly lags behind the solid state drives in terms of read and write speeds. A DVD drive is missing.

Present are stereo speakers, a 1MP web-chat camera, Wi-Fi 802.11AC wireless and Gigabit Ethernet LAN network connections, Bluetooth, three USB 3.0 ports, HDMI port and Intel Wireless Display technology for video output to external displays, and a media card reader.

Overall, the Asus Flip Q502LA-BBI5T15 and Q502LA-BSI5T14 are decently powerful laptops with many forward-looking features, all wrapped in a luxurious but not gaudy package. They are a good buying choice at the current price of around $800, but keep in mind there are many equally attractive touchscreen laptop alternatives on the market, such as the Toshiba Radius P55W-B5112 with the same price, similar specs, and faster Intel i7 processor.

The battery life is rated at up to eight hours.
