HP Envy m6-w103dx 15.6″ 2-in-1 Laptop with 6th Gen Intel i5 / 8GB / 1TB
The HP Envy m6-w103dx is for those who prefer the 15.6-inch notebook size but want to experience modern Windows 10 2-in-1 PC functionality.
The m6-w103dx, just like all models from the Envy X360 15 laptop series, sports a 360-degree hinge which allows you to convert the laptop to a tablet or multimedia / presentation stand or tent. The hinge carries a Full HD 1920×1080-pixel multi-touch display with IPS technology for maximally wide viewing angles. The base of the laptop carries a full-size illuminated keyboard with chiclet style keys and a very big touchpad.
The 5.1-pound notebook is encased in a silver 0.9″ thick chassis with aluminum finish on the palmrest and screen lid.
Inside, HP’s m6-w103dx packs the mid-range Intel Core i5-6200U dual-core processor from the latest 6th Generation Skylake lineup. Besides the CPU which can effortlessly crunch all your daily tasks and can serve for occasional media production, the machine includes 8GB of system memory for seamless multitasking. The hard drive has a large capacity of 1 Terabyte, but since it’s only a mechanical HDD it lacks fast read and write speeds of solid state drive storage. Gaming is powered by the Intel HD 520 integrated graphics, which can serve only for the casual and non-demanding PC games.
The laptop incorporates Bang & Olufsen-branded stereo speakers, a 720p web camera, 802.11AC Wi-Fi, Gigabit LAN, and Bluetooth connection, two USB 3.0 ports and one USB 2.0, a multi-in-1 media card reader, HDMI video output, and a combo headphones / microphone audio connector.
The battery has a capacity 48 WHr which is not extremely big. There’s no info on battery life for this particular model, but HP says the Envy x360 15.6″ series can last “up to 8 hours and 45 minutes on a single charge.
This model currently costs $799.99. Best Buy will have it on sale for just $549.99 during Black Friday 2015.

It’s basically the 15t-w100 series and the m6-w103dx is one of the configurations. Here are the official docs for the w100:

It’s relatively easy, according to the service manual for the m6-w103dx: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04763031
See the page 29. But keep in mind the HDD in this model is an Authorized Service Provider part. Here’s a warning from the manual:
“Components described in this chapter should only be accessed by an authorized service provider. Accessing these parts can damage the computer or void the warranty.”
It also worth noting that you can add an M.2 SSD to this laptop while keeping the default HDD in place.
