Lenovo Miix 300 10.1-Inch 64 GB Tablet with Keyboard (80NR001WUS)

The Lenovo Miix 300 (80NR001WUS) 10.1-inch tablet with detachable keyboard and 64 GB of internal storage is one of the best sellers in the computing department. That’s understandable, since it offers a modern 2-in-1 tablet / laptop hybrid Windows 10 PC experience at a low price of $200. Another benefit of purchasing the Lenovo Miix 300 80NR001WUS is inclusion of a free 1-year subscription for Microsoft Office 365 Personal software.

A potential downside for some users is its basic performance. Nevertheless, the included Intel Atom Z3735F quad-core processor paired with 2GB of system memory is sufficiently powerful to complete the basic day-to-day tasks, such as web browsing, working on Microsoft Office documents, and watching movies. Due to low RAM size of 2GB, you won’t be able to run many browser tabs and apps simultaneously without RAM-related slowdowns. 64GB of internal storage based on eMMC flash memory technology isn’t a capacious nor top-speed storage solution. But, considering that similarly priced Windows 10 tablets come only in 32GB capacity and that eMMC is somewhat faster than the standard notebook hard drives, we can’t complain too much.

The 10.1″ display with 1280×800 pixel count doesn’t provide picture sharpness of Full HD 1920×1080 screens. But, considering the relatively low screen size, pixel density isn’t too bad by PC standards. On the positive side, the display is based on IPS technology, which ensures wide viewing angles without color distortion.

Besides the multi-touch screen, you can interact with software via the device’s detachable keyboard. The non-backlit keyboard deck provides decently sized keys and trackpad, as well as two full-size USB ports (at least according to provided images) in addition to those on the tablet part. The tablet portion features a micro-USB 2.0, a micro-HDMI, and a combo audio port. For storage expansion, you can use a micro-SD card slot. The tablet has dual cameras – a 5MP one on the back and a 2MP web chat cam on the front. Unfortunately, there’s only one mono speaker, so you can’t expect great sound quality if you don’t use headphones.

The Miix 300 series is claimed to provide “up to 9 hours” of local video playback on a single battery charge.

The tablet part weighs in at 1.3 pounds, while the keyboard adds another 1.2 pounds to the overall weight of the 2-in-1 PC. The tablet is fairly thin at 0.4″, but the keyboard docking adds 0.7″ to the profile.
