Lenovo ThinkPad L440 (Customizable)

Among the Lenovo ThinkPad laptops, the most similar to the L440 14-inch model are its larger 15.6″ sibling, the L540, and the T-series T440 and T440p 14″ models. Generally, the ThinkPad L440 is a lower-end series than the T counterparts and naturally its pricing is lower. However, the L-series 14-incher doesn’t make too many compromises, specs- and build quality-wise. It’s still a rugged business notebook with a no-frills design and spill-resistant Precision ergonomic keyboard, the traditional ThinkPad TrackPoint mouse pointer, powerful Intel Haswell processors (up to quad-core i7), optional solid state drive, up to 16GB of RAM, and many enterprise-centric security and system management features, such as a built-in fingerprint reader and Smart Card reader and Intel vPro system administration technology.

Important features which are missing and are potentially dealbreakers are a lack of 1080p 1920×1080 screen resolution found on the L540, since the L440 tops at 1600×900, and absence of a dedicated video card option. On the other hand, the rest of the feature set is admirable. It consists of a built-in DVD writer, stereo speaker system, a video chat camera with 720p resolution, four USBs, HDMI and VGA video outputs, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet LAN, and optional 4G LTE mobile broadband.
