The HP Spectre x2 12t-a000 is a high-end 12″ 2-in-1 tablet / laptop hybrid, inspired by the famous Microsoft Surface series. As same as the Surface, the Spectre x2 12t-a000 has an adjustable kickstand on the back to keep the tablet part at an angle during its use in laptop mode with an accompanying detachable keyboard.
Since it’s a premium-class device, a sharp display resolution and IPS technology for wide viewing angles are present. The panel features a pixel count of 1920-by-1280 pixels, productivity-centric 3:2 aspect ratio, and support for active digitizer pen input besides finger touches.

The keyboard of the HP’s model sports key backlight and is accompanied by a spacious touchpad. The keyboard deck can be raised at an angle for a more comfortable typing experience, just like with the Surface series.

They are not as fast as their 15-Watt Core i5 and i7 counterparts you can find in the Surface Pro and mainstream notebook series, but still an excellent choice for the day-to-day home and office tasks and much better than the low-end Atom and Celeron chips. 8GB of system memory is standard across the whole Spectre x2 12t-a000 series. Data storage choices include 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB solid state drives.

The rear camera supports Intel RealSense 3D technology. When it comes to networking and connectivity, the device doesn’t offer as many features as normal laptops, but it still meets needs of the average user. There are no standard full-size USB ports. Instead, HP has opted for dual USB-C type connectors, which can be converted to standard USBs or video output jacks via adapters. For getting you online, the Spectre x2 has 802.11AC Wi-Fi wireless connection and optional 4G LTE mobile broadband connectivity provided via Verizon. Other built-in features are Bluetooth, an SD memory card reader, and combo microphone / headphones audio jack.
The included battery has a capacity of 42 WHr, which is a great one considering small dimensions of the device with a 0.5″ thin profile, its light 2.6 pounds, and included power-saving processors. HP estimates the battery life can last “up to 10 hours”.
