However, performance-per-Watt ratio is incredibly good. This quad-core chip consumes only 2 Watts and outperforms in terms of raw CPU power many other budget chips with far greater power consumption, as well as the fastest Atom models from the previous-generation Bay Trail family. The Intel Atom x7-Z8700 is able to satisfy most PC users when it comes to the routine daily tasks, like surfing the web, working in Microsoft Office applications, multimedia playback, or playing non-demanding games like Minecraft, Counter Strike, or League of Legends on low-resolution / low-detail settings. The CPU’s great thermal characteristics enable its use in very thin tablets without cooling fans. No wonder it’s utilized in one of the most popular Windows computers – the Microsoft Surface 3.

    Could you make a list of low end games that would play on this CPU 2gb,4gb & 8gb. Because amazon has generic, transmart & teclast versions of Windows 10/Android dual is and a portable steam machine sounds cool as shit…

      I haven’t tested the chip, but I have experience with the previous-gen Atoms with 2GB of RAM (single and dual channel). And the newer Atoms, especially the top x7 model, have faster GPUs. So, I can tell you you’ll be able to play at least Minecraft on lowest settings, League of Legends on low-to-mid settings and ~720p resolutions, and CS:GO on lowest and 720p. All on around 25 fps.

      The big question here is whether RAM in the devices you plan to buy is single or dual-channel. The x7-z8700 does support dual-channel memory, but I don’t know if the manufacturers of these devices have utilized it. Having single-channel memory can significantly cripple gaming performance, due to low memory bandwidth.
