Dell Inspiron 17 5000 5758 Mid-Range 17.3″ Laptop
The Dell Inspiron 17 5000 5758 is a large-screen 17.3-inch laptop, which belongs to the mainstream segment. The mid-range notebook provides entry-level to higher-end performance, depending on configuration, as well as optional touchscreen support and optional Full HD 1920×1080 display resolution besides default 1600×900. Another important option is keyboard backlight.

Dell’s 5758 comes with either the enty-level Intel Pentium 3805U, mid-range Intel Core i3-5005U and i5-5200U (review), or higher-end i7-5500U processor. All of these chips belong to the latest 5th Generation Core Broadwell CPU family and feature two cores. You can click on the links of each CPU to find more about them. A review of the Intel HD 5500 integrated graphics of the Core-branded parts can be found here. Another graphics option is the Nvidia GeForce 920M 2GB dedicated video card, which is an entry-level one but still better than the HD 5500. The CPUs and GPUs are paired with up to 16GB of system memory and either 500GB or 1-Terabyte hard drive. The laptop does have a built-in DVD burner. Users can replace the included RAM and storage devices easily, via a bottom cover which is held only by two screws. There are two memory slots.

The notebook has a pair of stereo speakers, 720p webcam, 802.11n or newer and faster 802.11ac Wi-Fi wireless, Ethernet LAN port, Bluetooth, HDMI video output connector, one USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, audio jack, and a media card reader.
The weight of the laptop is either 6.2 or 7.3 pounds, depending on whether it’s a touchscreen model or not. Thickness of the profile is 1.1″.
The battery has a capacity of 40 or 47 WHr, but we have no info on battery life.
