Dell Inspiron i7559-2512BLK 15.6″ FHD Laptop (6th Gen Intel Core i7, Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD + 8GB SSD)

The Dell Inspiron i7559-2512BLK is one of the configurations of the Inspiron 7559 15.6-inch gaming notebook series. The 7559 and the i7559-2512BLK itself with its price of around $850 belong to the affordable gaming laptop segment.

The i7559-2512BLK features Full HD display resolution, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M dedicated video card, the 6th Generation Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor, 8GB of RAM, and a hybrid 1-Terabyte hard drive with 8GB solid state storage. The GTX 960M with its 4GB of GDDR5 video memory is a mid-range graphics card. It able to run all the popular game titles. True, in some games you’ll have to reduce some graphics detail and resolution settings in order to get smooth rendering. The Intel Core i7-6700HQ is a quad-core processor and one of the fastest laptop CPUs on the market. It ensures you won’t be having any performance problems in demanding games and heavy programs like photo and video editors, not to mention everyday home & office computing activities. 8GB of RAM memory is enough large to meet multitasking needs of the vast majority of users. Mechanical hard drives are traditionally a bottleneck when it comes to modern PC performance. The HDD in the Dell incorporates fast SSD with 8GB capacity to help with this problem. Still, the hybrid HDD / SSD isn’t nearly as fast as pure SSDs. On the positive side, it offers a great 1TB storage capacity for carrying game installations, which can be huge these days. The laptop doesn’t have a built-in DVD drive.

The FHD screen provides sharp picture with its 1920×1080 pixel count, as well as ample of space for displaying programs side-by-side. IPS wide viewing angle technology is missing on the available specs sheets of the i7559-2512BLK, but given the whole 7559 features IPS it’s safe to assume the 2512BLK isn’t an exception. The screen is anti-glare type.

In the center of the black plastic chassis with red accents is a spacious keyboard with numeric pad, with LED backlight beneath the keys. The touchpad has integrated buttons for mouse click actions, instead of physical ones.

The laptop features stereo speakers with a subwoofer, a 720p web camera, 802.11AC Wi-Fi wireless and Gigabit LAN wired connections, Bluetooth, HDMI video-out port, three USB 3.0 ports, a combo headphones / microphone audio port, and an SD media card reader.

Another excellent selling point of the i7559-2512BLK is a very capacious 74 WHr battery, which is claimed to provide “up to 10 hours” of battery life. That’s of course with lighter tasks involved instead of power-consuming gaming.

The machine comes with Windows 10 Home OS pre-installed.
